Allan Gotthelf
Chair, 1990–2013
At the time of his death in August of 2013, Allan Gotthelf was Anthem Foundation Distinguished Fellow for Research and Teaching in Philosophy at Rutgers University and professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the College of New Jersey. Between 2003 and 2012, he was a visiting professor of history and philosophy of science at the University of Pittsburgh. He was a co-founder of the Ayn Rand Society and the longest-serving chair of its Steering Committee
George Walsh
Chair 1987–1990
At the time of his death in 2001, George Walsh was professor emeritus at Salisbury State University. Prior to this he was chair of the department of philosophy at Hobart and William Smith College, and earlier taught at Eisenhower College. He was a co-founder of the Ayn Rand Society and the first chair of its Steering Committee.
